Overview

The Process
You'll need to obtain a learner's permit and a DOT physical before registering .
You will take the 31 theory classes online at your leisure. We will give you a username and password for this.
Each student will complete the 18 online class hours.
We will provide one to two days of hands-on training. This will include the skills portion and the pre-trip inspection.
Next is the "behind the wheel" training. This will consist of driving the road course with the instructor.
Finally, the state examiners test. If you take and pass the exam here in NC, you will be given a letter of completion. This letter enables you to get your Non Restricted Class B CDL with a "P" endorsement in your state.
You can use the CDL Manual to get ready for the Permit test. You will only need to study the chapters that pertain to a bus.
If a student fails the exam, he/she may re-test as early as one week after failing. Remedial training may be necessary before retesting.
